Chinese New Year celebrations at Cherry Tree House
Residents and visitors were treated to an amazing performance of Chinese music and dance by musician Henry Fung (formerly of the Hwang Kwong Chinese Orchestra) and dancer Ling Ling. The performance was a celebration of the Chinese New year, and we were very lucky to have booked Henry and Ling Ling, as they were in the middle of a busy time performing at many celebrations in the area including Manchester Art Gallery and an outdoor performance in St Annes Square.
Henry played the Chinese Flute and the Erhu while Ling Ling played the Zither and sang and danced with Chinese umbrellas. Residents had made Chinese lanterns to decorate the walls and it all made for a very different and lovely afternoon.
