Daniel O’Donnell and a fish and chip supper at Finney House
It was a cold night in Preston on Thursday at Finney House, but residents and their families were made to feel very warm and cosy with a fish and chip supper and the dulcet tones of singer Brian Forde.
Brian, who was in the music business for over 40 years as a singer and guitarist in his family’s Irish show band has now retired, but he still likes to keep singing and so works part time as an Elvis and Daniel O’Donnell tribute act. His Irish eyes were really smiling last night and residents enjoyed singing along to all the old classics. Brian is very popular with residents, particularly Hazel from Meadow House who came to watch and thoroughly enjoyed it. We also have another lady, also called Hazel, who is a super fan who had requested Brian come to play a couple of months ago. Unfortunately she wasn’t well enough to attend, so Brian performed a Daniel O’Donnell song just for her in her room. How lovely was that!
Every month Finney House has a themed dining night and this month a take out fish and chips night was requested by residents and supplied by local chip shop ‘Wee Chippy’.
