Gainsborough House Step into Christmas with Elton John tribute act
The Rocket Man himself, AKA Elton John tribute act, Steve Hollington helped Gainsborough House ‘step into Christmas’ this week. Complete with trademark Elton John glasses, a flamingo inspired suit and flashing shoes, Steve took to the Gainsborough House piano and had residents ‘still standing’ after a packed set of Elton anthems and some Christmas classics. There was ‘something about the way he looked’ that hit a cord with many of our residents, bringing back happy memories of years gone by. He certainly didn’t ‘sacrifice’ any of Elton’s set list, playing many of his biggest hits including Your Song, Crocodile Rock, Song for Guy & Daniel. Steve also took time out of his set list to talk about the meanings behind many of the songs. A fantastic afternoon, enjoyed by residents and staff alike. We were sad to see him leave but ‘I guess that’s why they call it the blues.’
