Gainsborough House Team complete Alzheimer’s 10k Memory Walk

On Saturday 26th September ‘Team Gainsborough’ – a group of Gainsborough House staff, took part in the 10k Memory Walk at Heaton Park, Manchester to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society.

The team who consisted of Activities Co-ordinator’s Sharon and Kerith, Heathcare Assistants Sam and Dana and Receptionist Rudo, have managed to raise almost £300.00. “It was a beautiful atmosphere and everyone came together for the same cause, we even met up with one of our residents daughters who was also taking part’ said Kerith. The team trained hard for the event which took just two hours to complete and they haven’t even put their feet up yet – they are already busy planning their next events which include a visit from Zoolab on the 26th, a Halloween party on the 30th of October, and a bonfire party on the 5th November.

A representative from the Altzheimer’s society will be coming to Gainsborough in October to collect the total amount raised and give a talk on Alzheimer’s
