Kitwood House celebrates its first birthday!

An Elvis tribute, market stalls, a bouncy castle, cupcakes, and a fabulous birthday cake all made for a wonderful way to mark the occasion of Kitwood House being operational for one whole year on Saturday 27th August 2022.  Residents and visitors had a great time, some even managing to start their Christmas shopping! And to top it all, we managed to raise over £500.00 for some special decorative items in our resident’s garden.

Pictured with Kitwood’s amazing three-tiered birthday cake made by Wellbeing Lead Annette Rathbone is nurse Nina Margherita and carer Rebekach Wendon – the first nurse and carer to be appointed when Kitwood House opened its doors.

In the space of one-year Kitwood House has been named the Best Care Home Design at the prestigious Knight Franks Awards and listed in the Top 100 care homes in the UK in 2022. It was also a finalist in The Design in Mental Health Awards and the Care Home Awards 2022 and L&M Healthcare’s sister company, Dynamic Buildings Solutions also won a Care Sector Supplier award for its design and build.

‘It’s been a fantastic first year for Kitwood House’ said Ursa Virag Home Manager, ‘The care sector has recognised the design and build of our fantastic home and the facilities we offer on the awards circuit, but the icing on our birthday cake is that we’ve managed to build a solid team of superheroes, all dedicated to the care of our residents and that is what is most important.’

L&M Healthcare’s Managing Director Jeanne Davies was delighted to see that Kitwood House is now embedded into the local community. ‘A number of local businesses kindly donated proceeds, prizes, or goods to sell. I’d personally like to thank Small Street Markets, Bargain Booze Rudheath, Spar Garage Rudheath, Tesco Northwich and Robert’s Bakery and of course our residents’ families, friends and anyone who attended for their support. It’s wonderful to see that Kitwood House is now feeling like it is part of the local community, the community it was designed to serve.’
