L&M Healthcare reward staff with 15.7% pay rise above NMW

On April 1st L&M Healthcare will once again be increasing their pay rates. From April 1st, 2023, the government have increased the National Minimum Wage (NMW) by 9.7% taking the hourly rate from £9.50 to £10.42 per hour and this will make significant difference to staff on NMW, but because L&M Healthcare are committed to ensuring care teams remain on market leading wages, pay rates for their care teams will increase by 15.7% over the National Minimum Wage. This comes at a huge cost to the business, but one L&M Healthcare are happy to bear to reward staff for their continued service and loyalty.

‘The new rate will be paid to all care staff regardless of age or qualifications’ said Paul Fletcher, L&M Healthcare’s Commercial and Business Director, ‘If they are doing the job they will get paid the same rate. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, L&M Healthcare are as committed to our staff as they are to us. We hope this pay increase goes some way to demonstrating this.’

L&M Healthcare have over 500 staff across five care homes in the Northwest. They specialise in dementia care, a growing area of specialism in the care of older people.
