Activities at Whittle Hall

We have a weekly programme of varied and inclusive activities, to entertain and stimulate our residents, such as:

  • Trips to places of interest
  • Live professional musicians and entertainers
  • Guided walks round the gardens
  • Weekly chair based exercise classes
  • Board games such as scrabble and dominoes
  • Card games such as ‘Play your cards right’
  • Arts and crafts
  • Film nights
  • Tover – interactive light projector
  • Jolly Trolley – mobile interactive audio visual entertainment centre

All activities are led by Wellbeing Co-ordinators. If your loved one has a special interest or hobby that is not listed here, don’t worry, we will support any special interests or pastimes.

Residents are actively encouraged to take advantage of our hair and beauty salon where they can enjoy pedicures, manicures, massages, hair cutting and styling.

Residents and staff have fallen in love with the four little ducklings that they hatched as part of – what was originally intended to be – a few days hatching experience.  However, having nurtured their first few days of life, everyone has grown so attached that they can’t bear to see them go! Consequently, they made an impassioned plea to Head Office to keep them and now the little ducklings have been formally adopted with plans to create their own special Duck House, complete with paddling pool.
