Pam is a very much valued member of staff, although she only started working at Whittle in June this year, she has really made her mark. She brought a wealth of expertise with her, having spent the last 20 years working in care home kitchens and has an excellent work ethic.  What she loves about the kitchen environment is keeping it tidy. Keeping things clean, well-organised and being prepared she believes is essential to the smooth running of a busy kitchen. Whittle Hall’s kitchen is a busy one, it feeds 74 residents three times a day, not forgetting morning coffees and afternoon teas. So preparation and organisation is absolutely key.

When asked what she thought about working at Whittle Hall Pam said ‘ I love it, it’s very friendly, you can feel it as soon as you walk through the door’ She went onto to say that kitchen supervisor Ella is wonderful to work for and really inspires her.

Pam has lived in the Warrington area all her life, she was born in Stockton Heath and now lives in Penketh with her partner of 25 years. She has one daughter and two grandchildren. Her mum was a dinner lady when Pam first went to school, so maybe that is where she gets her love of working in the kitchen from.

‘Pam is an all-round good egg.’ Said Deborah Payne home manager. ‘She is like an ever ready battery; from the minute she comes into work to the minute she goes home she never sits down. She will help anybody and is an extremely willing, excellent team player.’

‘I’m always excited to see who makes Hero of the Month in our homes. Said Jeanne Davies managing director of L&M Healthcare.  ‘We have some incredible staff in every department, but a well organised kitchen is central to keeping our residents well fed and nourished and is the heart of a happy home. Pam has only been with us a short time, but she is already an exemplary member of staff and I’m delighted to see her efforts have been recognised in this way.’

As well as being presented with her certificate and a gift by home manager Deborah, Pam also receives £100 worth of M&S vouchers.
