Parkinson’s Awareness Day at Gainsborough House
We have a few residents at Gainsborough House who suffer from Parkinson’s disease and one relative is the chairperson of the Warrington Parkinson’s Society. So we decided to help raise some money to support it. On April 12th we wore blue (Parkinson’s charity colour) and donated £1.00 to do so, we decorated the home with blue balloons and we also had a raffle (drawn by Charles from the Warrington Parkinson’s Society) that had a Warrington theme with some prizes donated by Warrington Wolves Rugby Club including a signed ball and socks. To make the day memorable and have a little fun at the same time we were entertained by the fabulous swing singer Luke Gessner who got residents and staff up on their feet, giving a few high kicks to New York, New York!
