Sue Howard is named Hero of the Month for June at Gainsborough House
Registered nurse Sue Howard has been named Hero of the Month for June by home manager Joanne Goodwin.
Sue, who received her diploma in nursing at Chester University 10 years ago, has been working with L&M Healthcare for that last 3 and a half years; at both Finney House in Preston and at Gainsborough House in Warrington for the last eighteen months.
It is not the first time Sue has won an award; she was twice ‘Star of the month’ when she was a district nurse before joining L&M Healthcare.
On hearing the news that she has won Sue was in shock. ‘ I was a bit taken aback but was really chuffed. I have to say, I couldn’t do any part of my job without the incredible team here at Gainsborough House, from the top downward we work really well together.’
‘Sue was chosen because she is an exemplary nurse and a real inspiration to the team.’ Said Joanne Goodwin, home manager. She was nominated by a resident’s daughter who said the care she had shown her dad was ‘ amazing and they will never forget her.’ She was also nominated for Hero on the month in May by one of her colleagues who said ‘ Sue is a prime example of someone who leads by example, I’m proud to say I’ve worked alongside her, I’ve learned a lot from her and she’s made me a better person in my role.’
Sue lives locally in Warrington, is single (although she says she is married to her job), and has one son aged 22 who is a field engineer.
