Three little Maids entertain residents at Gainsborough House

As part of our Travel the World series, yesterday residents at Gainsborough House had their attention focussed on Japan.

Yoga and relaxation teacher Mija, made her own Sushi and bought it in for residents to try along with lots of fabulous Japanese artefacts to look at. Activities coordinators Sharon and Lorraine joined Mija in traditional dress to create our very own three little maids. As well as looking amazing, they delighted everyone and even surprised a few who didn’t recognise them.

Our Jolly Trolley was decorated with Japanese flags and paper decorations and set to play Japanese music and wheeled around to make sure every resident who wanted to be was involved.

It made for a fabulous afternoon, full of fun, interest and bright colours. We learned a lot too. For one resident it was a real first, at 94 years old Hazel tried her first ever piece of Sushi. Which just goes to show, you are never to old to try new things.

Well done Hazel and thanks to the staff involved for going the extra mile and putting together a brilliant afternoon for our residents.
