Val Shaughnessy and her family featured in City of Trees project
This is the family of Cherry Tree House’s home manager Val who all work in the care sector and who were chosen to have their faces projected onto trees in Central Manchester last night, as part of a project called SENTINELS – #livingheroes that is being delivered by Greater Manchester charity, City of Trees and projection artists Illuminos.
As well as being our home manager, Val is also a registered nurse. Her husband Nick, who received the Chief Nursing Officer’s ‘Nurse of the Year’ award, is the manager of a secure mental health hospital. They have four children; two daughters who are both nurses and two sons, one who works in maintenance in a mental health hospital and the other who is cleaning at Cherry Tree whilst on a break from travelling. Both Val’s sister and her mother in law are also nurses.
How about that for a caring family?! And how proud are we that they chosen to be a part of this fantastic project and are being recognised in this way for the incredible work that they have done during this current pandemic. What a team!
