Valentine’s Day 2021
We had such a ‘love’ly Valentine’s Day yesterday.
In the run up to it we were busy making lovely heart shaped crafts and cards to send to their sweethearts. On the day itself, staff pulled out all the stops to make the day feel really special; putting up fabulous decorations, giving heart shaped treats, red roses and specially decorated cup-cakes and then playing everyone’s favourite love songs for them, whilst facetiming partners and families. When it was time to settle down, romantic films along with a glass of something bubbly added that little extra touch of romance.
On facebook we were #sharingthelove posting the love stories of 24 volunteers that told how they met and fell in love, along with a photo of their wedding, honeymoon or engagement. We also played a video of their favourite song and dedicated it to them. Some of our facebook friends and a few staff members also sent in love poems and songs too, which we also shared to help make this a day filled with love and one to remember.
The people we care for might have been separated from their love ones due to the national lockdown, but we did everything possible to make everyone feel loved on this special day.
