Wonka Themed Day
Cherry Tree House was turned into a world of ‘pure imagination’ last Thursday for a Wonka Themed Day and what a day was! It really was one of the most amazing days they have ever had and a wonderful example of our ‘whole home’ approach to meaningful activities, with all staff pulling together, helping out and bringing residents to the event.
They had laughs, giggles, dancing and smiles all round. Everyone had such a lovely day. Their brilliant receptionist Danielle was definitely a blessing helping to decorate and then becoming one of two fabulous Umpa Lumpas, and Unit Manager Nicola and CHAP Laura made brilliant Mr and Mrs Wonka characters. Special thanks must go to one of our Pink Ladies Leah Cunningham who really stepped up to lead when Gaby our other Pink Lady was taken ill.
Sweets, chocolate fountains, home-made Wonka Lemonade were all on-hand, and as an extra treat Elizabeth Grace Hartley gave a live performance of all the songs from the musical. A truly magical afternoon.
